Objective: To provide financial assistance, social security, and economic empowerment to eligible women in Madhya Pradesh.


🔹 Main Aim

The Ladli Behna Yojana aims to:

  • Strengthen the economic position of women from low-income backgrounds.

  • Promote self-reliance and decision-making power among women.

  • Improve health and nutrition status of women and children in poor households.


🔹 Key Features

Feature Description
Monthly Financial Assistance ₹1,250 per month (as of 2024; initially ₹1,000) is given directly to eligible women
Eligibility Women aged 21–60 years, who are residents of Madhya Pradesh and meet income criteria
Coverage Women from economically weaker and middle-income families
Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) The amount is transferred directly to the bank account of the beneficiary
Supportive Scheme Complements other women-centric initiatives in MP like Ladli Laxmi Yojana

🔹 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, a woman must:

  • Be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh

  • Be married, widowed, divorced, or abandoned

  • Be between 21 and 60 years old

  • Belong to a low or middle-income household

  • Not be an income tax payer

  • Must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account


🔹 Documents Required

  • Aadhaar card

  • Bank account details (linked to Aadhaar)

  • Income certificate

  • Residence proof (domicile of MP)

  • Ration card

  • Passport-sized photo
